1
Unboxing

Unbox your Pool Guardian unit

Open the box and confirm you have all components: the control box, high-water sensor, low-water sensor, power cable, and mounting bracket.

Tip: Lay everything out on a flat surface before starting so you can account for each piece.
2
Hardware

Assemble mounting kit and connect the sensors unit to the control box

Slide the vertical sensor track (A) to the flat paddle (B). Slide the high and low water sensors to the sensor track (A) and slide them up and down until they are in position. Clip wires along the side of the track.

Tip: Look for the HIGH and LOW labels printed on the control box ports.
3
Mounting

Hang the unit over the pool

Take the assemble sensor mounting kit and hang it over the pool coping and connect the cables to the control box.

Tip: Use the full length of the sensor cables to keep the control box at a safe distance away from the pool. The pool cover will keep the sensor mount in place all season long.
4
Sensors

Adjust the high and low sensor positions

Slide each sensor along the sensor track to set your desired water levels. Position the high sensor at least 1 inch below the tile line — this is the safe winter level. Position the low sensor a few inches below that, at the level you want it to stop draining.

Tip: The high sensor should always be below your tile line. Measure from the bottom of your tile and add an inch buffer. Not all polls are level - be sure to check the water line around the entire pool, not just where the sensors are.
5
Pump

Place the pump in the pool

Submerge your own pump in your the pool and connect it's power to the outlet within the PG-1 control box. Route the discharge hose away from the pool to a suitable drainage area.

Tip: As a safety precaution, place your pump in a 5-gallon bucket in the shallow end of your pool (or steps). This will ensure your pool never accidently drains in the event of a pump failure. Purchase a submersible pump that is suitable for your pool's water conditions.
6
Optional — App Configuration

Troubleshooting

Common questions during setup

Control box light isn't turning on

Check that the outlet is GFCI-protected and hasn't tripped. Try resetting the GFCI outlet by pressing the test/reset button. Confirm the power cable is fully seated.

Pump isn't turning on at the high sensor

Confirm the pump cable is fully connected to the control box pump port. Check that the high sensor is fully submerged when the water reaches that level.

Pump doesn't stop after draining

Confirm the low sensor is positioned below the intended stop level and isn't tangled or elevated. It must be submerged when water is above it and dry when the level drops past it.

App can't find the device

Make sure your phone and the device are on the same WiFi network. If using the Paid plan, confirm you're signed into your account. Try restarting the control box by unplugging it for 10 seconds.
