Open the box and confirm you have all components: the control box, high-water sensor, low-water sensor, power cable, and mounting bracket.
Slide the vertical sensor track (A) to the flat paddle (B). Slide the high and low water sensors to the sensor track (A) and slide them up and down until they are in position. Clip wires along the side of the track.
Take the assemble sensor mounting kit and hang it over the pool coping and connect the cables to the control box.
Slide each sensor along the sensor track to set your desired water levels. Position the high sensor at least 1 inch below the tile line — this is the safe winter level. Position the low sensor a few inches below that, at the level you want it to stop draining.
Submerge your own pump in your the pool and connect it's power to the outlet within the PG-1 control box. Route the discharge hose away from the pool to a suitable drainage area.
Download the Pool Guardian app. It connects locally over your home WiFi — no account required for the Free plan. On a Paid plan, sign in to enable cloud storage, remote access, and notifications from anywhere. Follow the steps within the App for configuration.
Check that the outlet is GFCI-protected and hasn't tripped. Try resetting the GFCI outlet by pressing the test/reset button. Confirm the power cable is fully seated.
Confirm the pump cable is fully connected to the control box pump port. Check that the high sensor is fully submerged when the water reaches that level.
Confirm the low sensor is positioned below the intended stop level and isn't tangled or elevated. It must be submerged when water is above it and dry when the level drops past it.
Make sure your phone and the device are on the same WiFi network. If using the Paid plan, confirm you're signed into your account. Try restarting the control box by unplugging it for 10 seconds.
The setup process is the same — but the Business plan gives you a technician dashboard to manage installations, monitor all client pools remotely, and receive alerts without needing the homeowner's app login.
